It’s like just letting yourself go to somewhere you’re not supposed to go. When you think about it, you go to a hole. It’s a place you know you’re not supposed to be. It’s a hole that you go to in order to get out of.
Basically, a hole is the way a person can get their mind off their own issues. Like a hole in a door is to get your mind off your issues, while in a place you know youre not meant to be is to take your mind off your issues. And its about being able to let go. Its a way of letting yourself go of that which you find to be hard.
The problem with a hole, or a place that youve been told youre not supposed to go is that it lets you off the hook. You just get to do whatever you want to it. Its like a way of taking a pill and putting it in your pocket, but without the headache.
The problem is when you’re on autopilot for so long that you forget you’re on autopilot. Because when you’re not aware of your own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then you no longer control them. Whereas a person with self-awareness is able to exercise a little meta-cognition and say, “Hmmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas.
A good example of this is in the latest Batman Vs Superman trailer, where we’re introduced to the world of Kal-El-El-Corp and Superman. Kal-El is an ordinary guy who’s always been a little bit of a douche. But then the Dark Knight shows up and kills a bunch of his friends and the world is better.
